Hi! greetings to all yhe Gorkhali and not the gurkhali..though it is a high time to flight for the Gorkhaland. But this is not the way we flight for the same with bandh, violence and hatred..infact come up with effective and impressive effectsso that the centre govt. and the world can learn what we are going through since independence of our country India.
firstly, we must unite together from West India to north-East India and from North India to South India.Everyone’s involvement and contribution is required to form a state..Had I been given a chance to speak in this matter with the higher authorities of India(Mr. Manmohan Singh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sonia Gandhi, and few other legends of our country) I would give my everything to make them understand the situation if not atleast face the music not by violence but with all the ideas that I have in my mind without hampering the economy of the state or the country and without hurting anyone’s sentiment’s..
We must also stop seeking the help of our neighbouring country(Nepal) because this was and will always remain the one and only reason why the centre and the state govt. ignore as we show them that we are more towards Nepal than being towards India in every aspect and this the fact and we cannot ignore this fact we really want a state(GORKHALAND) otherwise continue doing what we are doing since the past till date..
Educate and ask the youths to participate in more and more activities both state and centre..Bring up Lawyers, Doctor’s, Engineer’s, Professor’s, higher commanding officer’s in army. navy, airforce and all the other positions in this country..So that if tomorrow anyone ask us with what you are planning to form a state for the Gorkha’s atleast we will have the answer ready..
    ******* THINK ABOUT IT CAREFULLY*****
GORKHALI HO HAMI GORKHALAND(INDIA) HAMRO GHAR HO!!!

I enjoyed reading your article on King Thibaw and Myanmar: Remains of a Last Kingdom.
Did you know that one of King Thibaw and Queen Sapayalat’s daughters married a Frenchman who was in the British Political Service in Burma?
She changed her name to HSH Princess Catherine Louise and became a Catholic so she could marry him. His name was Eugene de Badalier de St. Pierre de Calais and he carried the titles Count de St. Pierre de Calais,Viscount de St.Pierre, Baron de Badalier de St. Pierre and Sieur de St. Pierre. They lived in Burma, had their children in Burma, as well as, their grandchildren. The grandchildren were shipped off to Scotland to attend school due to the invasion of the Japanese. One of those grandchildren was my Mother.

If you go a little deeper into things, reducing the level of patriotic excitement, you would find

that the princely states of Hunza and Baltistan were not always under the principality of the

Kashmir state – the Mir of Hunza has rather been more often following the dictat of the

Chinese state, specially after the conquer of Xingxiang by China in the 19th century. Baltistan

princely state (Gilgit with Skardu) was reluctantly tied up with Dogra Maharaja of Kashmir,

who was sold the state of Jammu & Kashmir by the British against a few lakh rupees after the

sikhs could not pay the required amount of taxes to the British for Kashmir. Earlier the Sikhs

and then the Dogras had been tormenting and exploiting the people of Hunza and Baltistan

whenever and wherever they could do so. All this had added up to form a great resentment

among the elite and commoners in Baltistan and Hunza for generations before it errupted

into a silent but effective support for Pakistan backed troups when they attacked Skardu –

Gilgit and entire Hunza did not give even a semblance of resistance while joining the

Pakistani forces, what to talk of a seige. Fall of Skardu has been an example of what may

happen when you rule a region against the wishes of the majority of people native to that

place….the truth is always above patriotic fervers and euphorias, in all ages. Those truths

which are not boldly acknowledged and addressed have a habbit of stabbing us in the back.

And this holds true in all ages and at all times. If we don’t learn from history, we face the

same situation again today – call it Kashmir, call it North-East !! Now would I be spared for saying “Jai Hind” ?
