Posted in Personal Posts with tags , , , , , , on September 30, 2007 by Barun Roy

The Great Himalayan Rock Contest has been set for November this year. Since I will be doing most of its promos, the preliminaries will be held at the Capitol Hall while the finals will be an open air concert at the fabulous Chowrasta. Let’s hope the glorious days of Rock in our beloved town are back. Kudos to VDM Records. Check out my preliminary promotion poster of The Great Himalayan Rock Contest in my poster section.

A Barun Roy Endeavour

A Barun Roy Endeavour LogoAll my creations including Posters, Paintings, CD/DVD Covers, Logos and others will now come with a ‘Barun Roy Endeavour Logo’ and watermark for protection against design, idea and concept theft. I think that it is paramount for us to copyright and trademark our creations for protection against theft and misuse. My experiences with Nafisha’ a short story and later a movie script where it was distorted, misrepresented and ultimately rewritten with another title ‘Yahaan’ and adapted into a big budget Bollywood movie without a dime or courtesy call and most recently with Triratna Productions where I was not paid for my creations vis-à-vis Triratna Productions Logos and others were grossly disappointing. While Yahaan went out to become a great success at the box office without me anywhere in its titles, I was able to stop Triratna Productions from using my logos. They have given up using all my logos.

It’s good to know that my books are now also available on Google Books. Books have always been my first love – both reading and writing them. I hope that one day all my books are available to all readily and in modest price if not in free. Please check out my books on Google Books.

The Himalayan TravellerIf words could have portrayed our emotions, like colours in the hands of a painter; if words could have latched on to the reality of moment like a nestled dream in our mind… I would have been happy. I would have danced around the meadowed green like a cur training to catch a butterfly, like an unborn child trying to wiggle his way out from the womb of his mother. But alas, my words fail me… They leave me alone in the midst of battle surrounded by enemy, unarmed and baffled. Only to stop beyond the lines to look back and mock at the General, they once served well. True, I am a man of words, and just words, as Annabelle once pointed out. True, I am a man moist in the deluge of dreams and imagination as Sherry once evaluated. But still, I can’t make it. Words fail me, when I need them the most today……

Emerald green, divine blue, visions of dream perhaps.
