This picture of the Great Calcutta killing is capable of revitalizing in our minds the painful inherted memory of the past leading to the partition of Bengal in particular and that of India in general. This again remind us what Arnold Tonbee said, “The greatest achievement of Islam in the centuries that have gone by… is the creation of Pakistan”. Whether Pakistan was the brainchild of Iqbal and Jinnah is a different question, but certainly it was achieved through bloodbath.
